Parent Zone

As a parent you will naturally want to have the best for your child and deciding on a school is one of the major choices to make. St Catherine’s is of an ideal size, big enough to offer all the opportunities of a large school, small enough for the pupils to be known by all the staff which leads to a family atmosphere.

There are many facets which make up a good school, pastoral care being one of the most important as children progress from the nursery stage to leaving us for secondary school.  Without good care it is unlikely that your child would be happy at school and able to fulfil their potential. Our pastoral care and attention to the individual needs of the child is a strong aspect of our work.  We have a school counsellor who is available for both children and parents to see.  We also offer Family Learning courses.

St Catherine’s is going from strength to strength.

In 2012 we were pleased to see the improvement in SATs results over the last three years as the following letter indicates,  Letter from the Minister of State for Schools.

In 2014 we were placed in the top 2% of the country with our excellent outcome in the phonics screening assessments which take place towards the end of year one.  Letter from MP Nick Gibb.

In 2016 The school was awarded a local award for the continued high achievement pupils from a disadvantaged background through the ‘Pupil Premium Awards’.
